Dr. Lee also serves as an Visiting Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology, Seoul National University. He received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Science at Seoul National University with a dissertation, entitled "Neuropharmacokinetic analysis and delivery strategy for drugs targeted to the central nervous system". Dr. Lee's research interests include pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modeling and simulation, artificial intelligence for drug discovery and development, analysis of big data, and model-based translational research in preclinical and clinical studies.

Previously, Dr. Lee received a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Chungnam National University. He has the distinction of achieving the Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) certifications, both of which are known as one of the most well-known and trusted Microsoft Certifications in the field of IT. After completing his PhD at Seoul National University, Dr. Lee served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT), followed by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in USA. Dr. Lee had a 4 year real-world experience at Korea's Daewoong Pharmaceutical Company as a researcher. Meanwhile, Dr. Lee also was a visiting scientist at RIKEN, Japan's largest comprehensive research institution.

    David Seung U Lee, MSc

David Seung U Lee is a PhD student at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Biopharmaceutical Science (MMBS), Graduate School of Convergence Science, Seoul National University. As an MMBS major, he received Master's of Science in Medicine in 2023. He joined CCADD during the 2021 Winter Internship Program. His research interest lies in generating Real-World Evidence (RWE) through causal inference using Real-World Data (RWD), such as electronic health records (EHRs). Moreover, he is interested in machine learning models for drug repurposing.

    Yujin Kim

Yujin Kim is a bio-medical engineering major at the department of Integrative Engineering, Chung-Ang University. She became an undergraduate student researcher at CCADD after successfully completing the 2022 Summer Internship program. Before this, she studied the fundamentals of drug development while participating in AMIST Drug Development Online Summer School program in 2021. At CCADD, she intends to explore diverse ways to integrate her engineering and biological knowledge with artificial intelligence (AI) technology and discover solutions to overcome limitations in medical data.

During her time as an intern at CCADD in the summer 2022, she was able to improve her proficiency in coding languages like Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python. Also, she gained a hands-on experience in conducting research using Real-World Data (RWD) such as electronic medical records (EMR), during which she cleaned and curated datasets containing preion records, laboratory test results, and medical diagnosis. Through these experiences, Yujin was inspired to become a member of CCADD and study more deeply about RWD and the applications of AI in the field of medicine.

Currently Yujin is part of a few ongoing research projects at CCADD. Just as she has provided a valuable support for the team, we hope this experience will turn out to be a valuable learning opportunity for her going forward.

    Seeun Park

Seeun Park is currently an undergraduate researcher at CCADD. She became an undergraduate student researcher after successfully completing the 2024 Winter Internship program. She is a Bioengineering major at Yonsei University. She was able to gain knowledge and hands-on experience on artificial intelligence for clinical drug development by the project “Improving the Generalizability of Natural Language Process Models to Extract Drug Safety Information from Clinical Notes”. With passion in healthcare and safety, she focuses on exploring clinical pharmacology and regulatory science more specifically Real-World Data (RWD) and policy analysis in Korea. It is her goal to work on expertise for the improvement of disease prevention and control.

    Suhyun An

Suhyun An is currently an undergraduate researcher at CCADD after completing the 2024 winter internship program. She is majoring in  Stem Cell and Regenerative Biotechnology at Konkuk University . Her recent interests lie in research utilizing large language models and deep neural networks, with a particular focus on AI-based drug discovery. More specifically, she focuses on the applications of drug-drug interactions and PK/PD modeling. Her research goal is to leverage these technologies to predict drug toxicity using clinical notes, as well as explore machine learning models for drug repurposing.

Prior to joining CCADD, she developed her in vivo and in vitro experimental skills at Seoul National University College of Medicine. During her Winter 2024 internship at CCADD, she further developed her proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python, while also enhancing her skills in data preprocessing and model development.

    Seoyoon Jang

Seoyoon Jang is currently an undergraduate researcher at CCADD after diligently completing the 2024 winter internship program. Seoyoon Jang is majoring in Systems Biotechnology at Chung-Ang University. Her research interests include generating real-world evidence (RWE) based on real-world data (RWD) using electronic medical records (EMR) and regulatory science. During her internship, she became proficient in R and gained hands-on experience with both representation and generative LLM models.

Before joining CCADD, she complete the 2024 Boostcourse <DATA SCIENCE PROJECTS> coaching study program. She also worked as an summer intern at the Lab of Drug Delivery and Cell Therapy at Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine.

    Aram Kim, R.Ph.

Aram Kim is a registered pharmacist, who studied Pharmacy at Gachon University. She worked for six years at Gachon University Gil Medical Center, where she gained practical experience in inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, as well as in drug information duties. During this time, she also earned a certification in geriatric pharmacy. Her experience in patient care made her interested in how real-world patient data can support clinical decisions with greater consistency and clarity.

Aram is currently focused on using real-world data (RWD) to generate real-world evidence (RWE). In particular, she is interested in how this evidence can support care for underrepresented populations, such as older adults and children, who are often excluded from traditional clinical trials. At CCADD, she intends to combine her in clinical practice with her passion for research, exploring how technology can improve decision-making in real healthcare settings. She is committed to building practical, data-informed tools that enhance patient care.
