On August 18, 2026, Prof. Howard Lee gave a lecture at PT Bio Farma (Persero), a state-owned pharmaceutical company of the Republic of Indonesia, headquartered in Bandung, Indonesia. This invitation was made through a program of the Global Biomanufacturing Training and Onsite Consultation (August 17-22, 2026), sponsored by the International Vaccine Institute. This program reflects PT Bio Farma's strategic priorities and capacity-building needs, and was intended to strengthen knowledge exchange, enhance technical competencies, and foster collaboration between all parties involved. 

In his talk entitled 'AI in the Pharmaceutical World: Current Status, Future Prospects, and Issues', Prof. Lee stressed various AI technologies have been tried out to make drug development processes speedier and more efficient, but we are still waiting to see if those promises could become a reality. He concluded, "As technologies get more matured, the understanding about the domain becomes more important."
