Yujin has
been selected to join the 2026 Global Bridge Training Program: Translational
Research Commercialization Track, organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute
(KHIDI). The four-week Basel Translational Innovation Program (BTIP) of
KHIDI will take place in Basel, Switzerland, throughout November.
The program
is designed to foster future physician-scientists with the capacity to
translate research outcomes into technologies and industries applicable in
real-world healthcare settings. Twelve early-career researchers and
physician-scientists in translational medicine were selected from across Korea.
During the program, Yujin will engage with Basel’s innovation ecosystem,
including the University of Basel, University Hospital Basel, global
pharmaceutical companies such as Roche and
Novartis, biotech and medtech startups,
and technology transfer offices.
Through the
program, Yujin aims to gain a deeper understanding of how AI- and data-driven
biomedical research can address unmet clinical needs and translate into
real-world healthcare and industry. She will particularly explore translational
research cases and strategies for intellectual property, technology transfer,
and commercialization to further define the clinical and societal potential of
her research.
